Necat Aygün — Biography

Necat Aygün was born on 26 February 1980 in Munich to a Turkish family. He started out at FC Wacker München before moving, at age 12, into the youth system of the city's established club, 1860 Munich; head coach Werner Lorant promoted him to the first-team squad in the 2000-01 season, though he did not get playing time at that level and featured mainly for the reserves.

In July 2001 he transferred to Beşiktaş at the request of coach Christoph Daum, but failed to secure a regular place and left when his contract ended at the end of the season. Back in Germany, after a brief spell with Stuttgart Kickers, he joined SpVgg Unterhaching, winning the Regionalliga title in 2002-03 to reach the 2. Bundesliga, where he stood out with his goal contribution in the 2005-06 season. He went on to play for MSV Duisburg, FC Ingolstadt 04 and SV Sandhausen, before returning to 1860 Munich in 2010 and retiring there in the summer of 2014.

After retiring he worked as a scout for 1860 Munich, before being promoted to sporting director of the first team in 2015; he left that role in November 2015. In February 2020 he took up a position as technical director at second-division club Karlsruher SC.
