Nihat Ertuğ — Biography

Nihat Rıza Ertuğ was a Turkish basketball player born on 29 September 1915; his date of death is not clearly recorded. He spent much of his playing career with Galatasaray, appearing for the club's basketball squad of the era.

Ertuğ also represented Turkey's national team, competing in the men's tournament at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, the first Games at which basketball was included as an official Olympic event. As one of the earliest generation of players to wear the national jersey at a major international basketball competition, he is remembered as one of the pioneering figures of Turkish basketball history.
