Nuri Turan — Biography
Nuri Turan, born Osman Nuri Turan on 4 July 1924, was a Turkish athlete who died on 5 January 2016. Standing 1.85 m tall, he competed in the shot put and discus throw.
He represented Turkey in both the men's shot put and discus throw at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki. Eight years later, he carried the Turkish flag as the national team's flag bearer during the opening ceremony of the 1960 Rome Olympics.
