Ogün Sanlısoy — Biography
Ogün Sanlısoy was born on 12 March 1971 in Gölcük, the son of a naval officer; because he was born on the day of the 12 March 1971 military memorandum, his father named him Ogün, from the phrase "o gün" ("that day"), to reflect his belief in democracy. After Fenerbahçe High School he studied industrial design at Mimar Sinan University. In 1992 he joined the thrash metal band Pentagram (known internationally as Mezarkabul) as vocalist, singing on the album Trail Blazer and being voted best rock vocalist of the year in magazine polls in 1993 and 1994; he left in 1995 after the band would not follow his wish to move toward Turkish-language songs.
He released his debut solo album Korkma in 1999, then raised his profile with O Gün (2004), which included the hit "Saydım", written during his military service. After the albums Üç (2006) and Ben (2011), he released the EPs Gel and Git in 2023 and 2024, later combined into the album Gelgit. In September 2026 he announced, together with bandmates Murat İlkan and Metin Türkcan, that he was leaving Pentagram.
