Olcay Şahan — Biography
Olcay Şahan (born 26 May 1987 in Düsseldorf) is a Turkish football manager and former international player, born and raised in Germany. He learned the game in the youth setups of Bayer Leverkusen and Fortuna Düsseldorf before joining Borussia Mönchengladbach's academy, though he never broke into their first team.
He turned professional with MSV Duisburg in 2008, reaching the DFB-Pokal final with the second-tier club in the 2010-11 season. A move to Kaiserslautern in 2011 took him to the Bundesliga for the first time. In 2012 he signed for Beşiktaş, where he played as a winger or attacking midfielder; he finished his debut season as the team's top scorer with eleven goals and won the Süper Lig title in 2015-16. He joined Trabzonspor in January 2017, and later in his career also played for Afjet Afyonspor.
Having represented Germany at under-17 level, he switched allegiance to Turkey, making his senior debut against Andorra in 2013 and earning a place in the Euro 2016 squad.
Moving into coaching, he took charge of TFF Second League side Altınordu in May 2024. In October 2025 he was appointed manager of 1461 Trabzon FK; the club extended his contract in February 2026, and he continued leading the team in the TFF Second League.
