Ömer Erdoğan — Biography

Born in Kassel, Germany, and holding both German and Turkish citizenship, Ömer Erdoğan built a playing career as a defender for clubs including Bursaspor, Galatasaray and Germany's St. Pauli, while also earning caps for the Turkey national team. Standing 1.91 m tall, he served as Bursaspor's captain and remains closely associated with the club from his playing days.

After retiring as a player, Erdoğan moved into coaching and has managed several Süper Lig clubs, including a spell at Sivasspor. More recently he has also appeared as a football pundit on Turkish television, and his name resurfaced in 2025-2026 as a candidate in coaching searches at clubs such as Bursaspor and Gaziantep FK, though the reported Gaziantep FK move was later denied.
