Osman Özköylü — Biography

Osman Özköylü was born on 26 August 1971 in Aydın. The 1.88 m centre-back began his playing career at Aydınspor in 1991, moved two seasons later to Trabzonspor, where he spent nine years, and later turned out for Samsunspor, Kayserispor, Kocaelispor, Uşakspor and Etimesgut Şekerspor before retiring in 2007. He was part of the Turkey squad at UEFA Euro 2000.

He began coaching at his former club Etimesgut Şekerspor in 2007, and over the following years managed sides including Erzurumspor, Körfez İskenderunspor, Denizlispor, Osmanlıspor, Şanlıurfaspor, Adana Demirspor and Samsunspor. At Elazığspor he went through the entire 2010–11 season unbeaten, taking the club to the TFF Second League title and making his side the only unbeaten team in Turkish football that season; in 2012–13 he led Kayseri Erciyesspor to the TFF First League title. Taking charge of Pendikspor in October 2021, he steered the club to consecutive promotions, first from the Second League and then through the play-offs into the First League.

His departure from his most recent club, Esenler Erokspor, shortly before the play-off final on 6 May 2026, drew wide coverage in the national press.
