Özan Anton Odabaşı — Biography

Born on 8 August 1995 in Espoo, Finland, Özan Anton Odabaşı is a Finnish-Turkish former professional basketball player who stands 2.06 meters tall. He came up through the youth ranks of Tapiolan Honka, moved to Fenerbahçe Ülker in the summer of 2012, and returned to Honka a year later. In the 2013-14 Korisliiga season he was named Rookie of the Year, averaging 8.0 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, and that same period he represented Team Europe at the 2012 Adidas Nations tournament in Los Angeles, averaging 13.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.

He transferred from Tapiolan Honka to Helsinki Seagulls during the 2014-15 Korisliiga season, having averaged 13.3 points and 6.8 rebounds across 12 games with Honka beforehand. When his contract expired in the summer of 2018 he became a free agent, and despite receiving offers he opted to step away from the game for a year to weigh his future. In the summer of 2019 he announced his retirement, saying a professional basketball career no longer aligned with his personal values.
