Özgür İleri — Biography

Özgür İleri was born on 17 November 1987 in İzmir. He began playing football in 2001 in Metaspor's youth academy before moving to Çanakkale Dardanelspor's academy, signing a professional contract there in 2006 and joining the first team. He made his official debut on 30 August 2006 against Kasımpaşa in the Turkish Cup. He helped Dardanelspor win promotion to the 1. Lig via the play-offs in the 2008-09 season, but after the club was relegated back to the 2. Lig and then to the 3. Lig in 2010-11, his contract was terminated and he became a free agent.

At the start of the 2011-12 season the midfielder signed for Süper Lig side Gençlerbirliği alongside Sakıb Aytaç and Ferhat Kaplan, scoring his first goal for the club against Bursaspor; he wore squad number 24 because he was 24 years old when he joined. He saw more starts in the 2012-13 season, playing in the Süper Lig against opponents such as Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe. He moved to Göztepe in 2015 and then to Bodrumspor in 2018; later in his career he also played as a midfielder for Pendikspor before retiring from active football.
