Raşit Bağzıbağlı — Biography

Raşit Bağzıbağlı (born April 19, 1985, in London) is a fashion designer of Cypriot origin. The third-generation representative of the Bağzıbağlı fabric stores founded in 1957, he studied fashion design and began creating his own clothing designs while still at school.

He started his career as a couture designer in 2007 and went on to win numerous awards in Turkey and Cyprus in 2010, also being named Best Young Designer of the Year at the Face of Fashion competition in New York. He designed the uniforms, logo and emblems of the TRNC Police. In 2014 he received the Fashion Designer of the Year award at the Fashion TV Awards and introduced the collection of his own brand, Rashid. Having worked with famous names such as Tülin Şahin, Bergüzar Korel and Tuba Büyüküstün, he also sat on the jury of the Kanal D competition show Yeni Bir Ben alongside Tuvana Büyükçınar and Şebnem Dönmez.
