Rebii Erkal — Biography
Rebii Erkal was born on February 10, 1911, in Istanbul and died there on November 25, 1985. He spent his entire playing career with Galatasaray and was also part of Turkey's squad at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
After retiring as a player, Erkal moved into coaching and took charge of the Turkey national football team in 1951. During his brief spell in charge, the national side famously defeated West Germany 2-1 away from home, a result still remembered as one of the standout moments in Turkish football history.
