Ricky Winslow — Biography

Rickie O'Neal Winslow, known in Turkey as Ricky Winslow, is a former American basketball player noted for his dunking. Standing 2.03 m tall, he spent most of his career in Europe, with Estudiantes Madrid in Spain and four different clubs in Turkey. After taking Turkish citizenship he also used the name Kartal Reşat Fırıncıoğlu. His son Justise Winslow also plays in the NBA.

After playing at Yates High School in Houston he moved to the University of Houston, where he played from 1983 to 1987 and is remembered as one of the last "official" members of the famed Phi Slama Jama dunking fraternity. He was picked 28th overall in the second round of the 1987 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls, but played only seven NBA games, for the Milwaukee Bucks in 1987-88. He then turned to Europe and played in its leagues for about twelve years: Cajacanarias in Spain in 1988-89, then Estudiantes, Cantù in Italy in 1993-94, Pau Orthez in France in 1994-95 and Zaragoza in 1995-96. He was also noted for his athleticism and ball handling. He stayed five seasons at Estudiantes, winning the Spanish Cup in 1992 and playing at that year's EuroLeague Final Four.

Fenerbahçe brought him to Turkey in 1995, and he went on to play for Türk Telekom from 1996 to 1998, Ülkerspor in 1998-99 and Efes Pilsen in 1999-2000 before ending his career in 2000.
