Salih Özcan — Biography
Salih Özcan (born 11 January 1998 in Cologne) is a dual German-Turkish footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder. Since the summer of 2026 he has played for Süper Lig club Beşiktaş, having previously represented Borussia Dortmund.
Özcan came through the youth academy of 1. FC Köln, breaking into the first team in 2016 and receiving the Fritz Walter Gold Medal as Germany's best Under-19 player in 2017. After a loan spell at 2. Bundesliga side Holstein Kiel in 2019-20, where he scored five goals in 28 league matches, he moved to Borussia Dortmund in 2022 before joining Beşiktaş in 2026.
Özcan represented Germany at youth level, winning bronze at the 2015 European U-17 Championship and the title at the 2021 European U-21 Championship, before switching allegiance to Turkey in 2022. He was part of the Turkish squad that reached the quarter-finals of UEFA Euro 2024.
