Samed Yeşil — Biography
Samed Yeşil (born 25 May 1994 in Düsseldorf) is a German footballer of Turkish descent who plays as a striker. Formed in the youth ranks of Bayer Leverkusen, he moved to Liverpool as a teenager in 2012 and was loaned to Swiss side FC Luzern in 2015.
Yeşil represented Germany at youth level up to under-19. He was particularly successful with the under-17 team: in 2011 he helped them finish runners-up at the European Championship, where he was top scorer, and take third place at the World Cup, where he finished as the second-highest scorer. In later years he played in the German lower divisions for clubs such as CSV Marathon Krefeld; in 2021 the press reported that he was also working as a factory worker alongside football.
