Şebnem Kimyacıoğlu — Biography
Şebnem Nezahat Kimyacıoğlu (born 14 June 1983 in Santa Clara, California) is a Turkish-American former professional basketball player and lawyer. Standing 1.82 m, she grew up in the United States, attended Pinewood School in California and graduated from Stanford University before moving to Turkey to play professionally.
Her longest club spell was with Galatasaray, which she joined in 2012 and with whom she extended her contract in 2018. She also played in Northern Cyprus for Near East University (Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi).
A long-serving member of the Turkey women's national team, she represented her country at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. After retiring she pursued a legal career in the United States; Turkish press reports in 2017 described her working as a lawyer in Hollywood. Her sister, Yasemin Kimyacıoğlu, is also a former basketball player.
