Semih Güler — Biography

Semih Güler was born on 30 November 1994 in Castrop-Rauxel, Germany; a dual German-Turkish citizen standing 1.84 m, he plays as a right-back or defensive midfielder. He began his career at Westfalia Herne in 2013, moved to Eskişehirspor in 2014, and spent two seasons on loan at Eyüpspor during that spell. In 2019 he joined then second-tier side Adana Demirspor, where his goal against Altay on 19 February 2021 was also the first goal ever scored at the club's new Yeni Adana Stadyumu. That same season he was part of the squad that won the TFF First League title and took Adana Demirspor up to the Süper Lig, and he stayed on as captain through the club's financial crisis in 2023-24; by 2025 he had made 161 official appearances, the most in the club's history.

He transferred to Gaziantep FK in 2025, then moved within the same season to Kayserispor, formally signing on 17 January 2026. Güler has said he might have become a police officer in Germany had he not played football, and that he is a keen video-game player; in March 2026 he drew wide attention for a public awareness message shared together with his daughter Defne, who has Down syndrome.
