Serhat Akyüz — Biography

Serhat Akyüz (born 10 August 1984) is a Turkish footballer who plays as a defender. Records differ on his place of birth, which is variously given as the Maçka district of Trabzon Province and as Istanbul.

He has spent his career with clubs in Turkey, appearing for Ankaragücü, İstanbulspor, Balıkesirspor, Büyükşehir Belediye Erzurumspor, Çaykur Rizespor, Konyaspor and İstanbul Başakşehir. In the summer of 2018 he was linked in the press with moves to both İstanbul Başakşehir and Çaykur Rizespor, and in later years he also turned out for Eyüpspor and Tekirdağspor.

In interviews Akyüz has stressed the place of football in his family, summing it up in 2020 with the remark that football is "in my genes".
