Sertaç Şanlı — Biography
Sertaç Şanlı is the first Turkish basketball player to win the EuroLeague with two different Turkish clubs: Anadolu Efes in 2021 and Fenerbahçe in 2025. The 2.13 m (7'0") center signed a one-year deal in July 2026 to play for Fenerbahçe again after leaving Beşiktaş, and he also won a silver medal with the national team at EuroBasket 2025.
Born in Edirne, he came through the youth systems of Efes Pilsen and Karşıyaka and turned professional with Genç Telekom. In 2010 he signed a five-year contract with Galatasaray and was loaned during that time to Tofaş, Gaziantep Basketbol and Uşak Sportif. After a season with Trabzonspor he moved to Beşiktaş in 2016 and helped the team reach the league final in his first year. His real breakthrough came at Anadolu Efes, whom he joined in 2018: he won the Turkish league in 2019 and 2021, the Presidential Cup in 2018 and 2019, and on the way to the 2021 final in Cologne scored 19 points against CSKA Moscow in the semi-final.
At Barcelona (2021-2023) he won the Spanish Cup and the Spanish League. Joining Fenerbahçe as a free agent in 2023, he won the Turkish league and cup in two consecutive seasons, and on 25 May 2025 in Abu Dhabi helped the team beat Panathinaikos and Monaco for his second EuroLeague title. He then signed with Dubai Basketball and, early in 2026, with Beşiktaş. For Turkey he played at EuroBasket 2017, 2022 and 2025, the 2019 World Cup and two Olympic qualifying tournaments.
