Şevket Altuğ — Biography
Şevket Altuğ was born on March 13, 1943, in the Bandırma district of Balıkesir. After graduating from Galatasaray High School, he studied at Istanbul University's Department of Cinema and Conservatory, beginning his film career with İşte Hayat in 1975.
Appearing in numerous Yeşilçam films through the 1970s and 1980s, Altuğ is best known to Turkish audiences for playing Şakir Uysal in the series Perihan Abla and Fikret "Fiko" in Süper Baba, as well as Hurşit in the film Şekerpare. He also appeared in productions such as Öyle Olsun, Mağlup Edilemeyenler, Hasip ile Nasip, Tokatçı, and Yedi Bela Hüsnü.
Having largely stepped back from public life in recent years, the veteran actor turned 83 in 2026, marking the occasion with a birthday post and making a rare public appearance at a funeral shortly beforehand.
