Sezer Badur — Biography

Born on 20 June 1984 in West Berlin, Sezer Badur is a Turkish-German former footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. He came through Borussia Dortmund's youth academy before moving to Turkey's Vestel Manisaspor under coach Mustafa Denizli in the 2003-04 season, where he made only a handful of appearances. After leaving Manisaspor he returned to Germany and, unable to secure his transfer clearance, spent two years in amateur football with Berliner AK 07 and SV Yeşilyurt before coming back to Turkey to join Karşıyaka in İzmir, leaving the club after it failed to pay his wages.

He then flourished at Sivasspor under Bülent Uygun before Trabzonspor signed him for a reported €330,000 in January 2010; he won the Turkish Cup with the club in his first season but, overtaken by players such as Selçuk İnan, Gustavo Colman and Didier Zokora, managed only 12 appearances across four seasons. He moved to Gaziantepspor in the winter of 2011-12 and to Elazığspor, again under Bülent Uygun, in 2012-13. He later played for Şanlıurfaspor and Antalyaspor, rejoined Gaziantepspor in 2018, and returned to Antalyaspor once more in July 2020.
