Shane Larkin — Biography

Born DeShane Davis Larkin on October 2, 1992, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the point guard is the son of Baseball Hall of Famer Barry Larkin. After playing college basketball at the University of Miami, he was picked 18th overall in the 2013 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks but was traded to the Dallas Mavericks the same day; his NBA career also included stints with the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets.

Following the 2016–17 season with Saski Baskonia in Spain, he returned to the NBA with the Boston Celtics, then moved to Anadolu Efes in 2018. During his years in Istanbul he was named top scorer of the 2019 EuroLeague final with 29 points against CSKA, set a tournament single-game scoring record of 49 points in 2020–21 (later broken by Nigel Hayes-Davis in 2024), and won back-to-back EuroLeague titles in 2021 and 2022, plus Turkish League titles in 2019, 2021 and 2023. A member of the Turkey national team since 2020, he won silver at the 2025 European Championship and was later named to EuroLeague's list of the 25 greatest players in its history.

In July 2026 he left Anadolu Efes to sign a two-year deal with archrival Fenerbahçe, meeting club chairman Aziz Yıldırım and passing his medical before the transfer was finalized.
