Sinan Özkan — Biography

Sinan Özkan, born March 22, 1986, in Saint-Étienne, France, is a footballer of French-Turkish background (some sources give his birth year as 1988). Playing as a forward or right winger, he began his career in the youth ranks of the French club Saint-Étienne before moving to Turkey, where he played for Türk Telekom, Manisaspor, Samsunspor, Giresunspor, and Fethiyespor. Transferring to Tokatspor at the start of the 2010-11 season, he settled in quickly and became one of the team's most successful players; he then played a key role in Elazığspor's championship-winning campaign by scoring decisive goals in crucial matches, before moving to Konyaspor ahead of the 2012-13 season. He made seven Süper Lig appearances for Manisaspor and one for Elazığspor, and was capped five times for Turkey's under-21 national team, playing in every one of those matches.

Later in his career he also turned out for Adana Demirspor, Alanyaspor, Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor, and his hometown club Saint-Étienne, before finishing his playing days at lower-division sides Kocasinan Şimşekspor and Serik Belediyespor. He retired from football in August 2022.
