Şükrü Birand — Biography

Şükrü Birand (June 5, 1944, Ankara – June 28, 2019, Ankara) was a former Turkish international footballer who spent many years playing as a right-back for Fenerbahçe. He is remembered as one of the most significant defenders in the club's history and also represented the Turkish national team.

Following his death in 2019, Birand has continued to be honored by the Fenerbahçe community, with the club and its supporters paying tribute to his memory on the anniversary of his passing each year.
