Süleyman Koç — Biography

Süleyman Koç (born 9 June 1989 in Berlin) is a Turkish-German footballer. Born in the German capital, he holds both Turkish and German citizenship and stands 1.78 m tall.

His early career was interrupted by a criminal conviction: in December 2011 the Landgericht Berlin sentenced him to three years and nine months in prison for a series of robberies and for battery. Transferred to an open prison in the summer of 2012, he was able to resume playing for SV Babelsberg 03, and in January 2014 he joined 2. Bundesliga side SC Paderborn 07 — a comeback Turkish media later summarised as "the road from prison to the Bundesliga".

The later part of his career was spent in Turkey. He signed for Çaykur Rizespor in January 2017, joined Adana Demirspor on a two-and-a-half-year contract on 10 January 2019, and moved to BB Erzurumspor in August 2021.
