Tarık Emir Tekin — Biography

Tarık "Taro" Emir Tekin is a younger-generation Turkish actor who made his name as Selçuk Dağcı in the series Sadakatsiz. He became a regular face on screen with Bir Peri Masalı and Yalı Çapkını, and currently plays Koray Karanoğlu in Aynı Yağmur Altında. He is the son of actress and singer Şevval Sam and Metin Tekin, the former Beşiktaş and national-team footballer turned coach and commentator, and the grandson of singer Leman Sam.

Interested in acting from an early age, Tekin trained in England: he completed a University of the Arts London programme through the Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts, took the RADA Foundation course and continued his theatre studies at the Oxford School of Drama. After returning to Turkey he made his screen debut in 2020 in Netflix's Rise of Empires: Ottoman, then played Bulut in BluTV's Çıplak. Sadakatsiz (Kanal D), which began the same year, introduced him to a wide audience.

In 2022 he reached a leading role in Bir Peri Masalı as Onur Köksal and carried out his military service the same year. He then played Kaya in Star TV's Yalı Çapkını and announced in the summer of 2024 that he was leaving the production. In interviews he has said he is often cast in negative roles. Besides acting, he is an amateur musician.
