Tayfun Korkut — Biography
Tayfun Korkut (born 2 April 1974 in Stuttgart) is a Turkish football coach and former international player. Born and raised in Germany, he played as a midfielder and spent his professional career mainly in Turkey and Spain, turning out for Stuttgarter Kickers, Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, Gençlerbirliği, Real Sociedad and Espanyol.
He earned 42 caps and scored once for the Turkey national team, appearing at UEFA Euro 1996 and Euro 2000. After retiring as a player in 2006, he worked in the youth setups of Real Sociedad, Hoffenheim and VfB Stuttgart and served as Abdullah Avcı's assistant with the Turkish national side.
As a head coach he spent around a year and a half in charge of Bundesliga club Hannover 96, followed by short spells at 1. FC Kaiserslautern, Bayer 04 Leverkusen and VfB Stuttgart. He was most recently the head coach of Hertha BSC.
