Tayfun Türkmen — Biography

Tayfun Türkmen (born 12 April 1978 in Anamur, Mersin Province) is a Turkish former footballer and football administrator. He was known primarily as a centre forward, although he was also able to play as a central defender.

After his playing career he moved into coaching and club management. In July 2025 he was appointed general manager of Gençlerbirliği's sporting company, and his return at the end of 2025 to Konyaspor, a club he had been associated with before, was widely reported in the Turkish sports press.

In June 2026 Konyaspor created a football development directorate and placed Türkmen in charge of it. In his first statement after taking up the post he stressed that his work would be devoted entirely to the club.
