Tayfur Havutçu — Biography
Tayfur Havutçu was born on 23 April 1970 in Hanau, West Germany, and holds both Turkish and German citizenship. A defensive midfielder, he spent most of his playing career in Turkey and is most closely associated with Beşiktaş, where he is regarded as one of the club's important players of that era, despite also having played for arch-rival Fenerbahçe earlier in his career. He is a relative of Beşiktaş's honorary president Süleyman Seba. Havutçu earned close to a decade of caps for the Turkish national team, appearing at UEFA Euro 2000 and forming part of the squad that finished third at the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
After retiring as a player, Havutçu moved into coaching, serving at times as an assistant with the Turkey national team's technical staff, and at club level most recently led Süper Lig side Kasımpaşa as head coach.
