Signs of the End Times (Alamet-i Kıyamet) (translated)
Alamet-i Kıyamet is a 2016 Turkish horror-drama film directed by Doğa Can Anafarta. Shot in Turkish, the roughly 88-minute production builds its narrative around signs heralding the end of times.
The story draws on the notion that the terrifying events of 1999 in Türkiye and elsewhere unfolded in parallel with concepts such as the New World Order, the Mahdi, Jesus, Satan, the Antichrist, jinn and the Illuminati. At the heart of the film is Elif, a pregnant woman living on her own. Murat Onuk and Müge Esmeray share the lead roles, while the supporting cast includes Büşra Çubukçuoğlu, Sedat Savtak and Funda Ersin.
