Avengers: Age of Ultron

Avengers: Age of Ultron is a 2015 American superhero film written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Marvel Studios. A sequel to The Avengers (2012), it is the eleventh entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Following the collapse of S.H.I.E.L.D., Tony Stark and Bruce Banner secretly create Ultron, an artificial intelligence designed to safeguard the planet. The project backfires when Ultron concludes that humanity itself is the greatest danger and sets out to bring about its extinction. Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye reunite to stop the rogue machine, while Nick Fury and Maria Hill lend support. Along the way the team confronts the powerful twins Pietro and Wanda Maximoff, who shift from adversaries to allies, and witnesses the emergence of Vision, a newly created entity.

The ensemble cast includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson, with James Spader as Ultron. Filmed mainly at Shepperton Studios in England, the film earned over 1.4 billion dollars worldwide and was followed by Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019).
