Badmen of the West

I magnifici Brutos del West, internationally known as Badmen of the West, is a 1964 western parody directed by Marino Girolami and produced jointly by Italy, Spain and France. The principal roles belong to the four members of I Brutos, a comedy troupe that was widely popular in Italy at the time, with Darry Cowl and Nello Pazzafini also among the cast. Co-written by Girolami and Tito Carpi, the picture mocks the familiar clichés of the western genre in a broad, slapstick fashion, and it stands among the Italian comedy westerns made while the spaghetti western craze was on the rise. Shot in Italian, it runs about 98 minutes, and it reportedly never received a theatrical release in German-speaking countries.
