Exatlon (Exathlon)
Exatlon is a sports reality competition format created by the Turkish production company Acun Medya and licensed worldwide. The show pits two teams of physically fit contestants against each other: one made up of professional athletes, former Olympians and celebrities, the other of ordinary people with strong athletic ability. Contestants live in special camps for weeks, competing on demanding obstacle courses that test physical performance and concentration, fighting both for their team's victory and for the individual championship.
The competition begins as a team-oriented contest and shifts to an individual mode in its final weeks, culminating in a finale where a man and a woman are crowned Exatlon champions; in some markets the two face off so that only one champion is crowned. The format first aired in Brazil on Rede Bandeirantes in 2017 and was later adapted in Mexico, Romania, Colombia, Hungary, Slovenia, Greece, Germany, Serbia and US Hispanic television. In Türkiye it streamed on Netflix in 2020 under the name Exatlon Challenge.
