Gikor
Gikor is a 1934 black-and-white silent film from Soviet Armenia, directed by Amasi Martirosyan for the Armenfilm studio. The roughly 63-minute melodrama premiered on 19 December 1934 and is regarded as the last Armenian silent film.
It was the first screen adaptation of Hovhannes Tumanyan's celebrated story of the same name, written in 1895, which follows Gikor, the young son of a poor peasant family sent to the city to work in a merchant's household. Hıraçya Nersesyan (Hrachia Nersisyan) stars in the leading role.
