Gikor

Gikor is a 1934 Soviet Armenian film directed by Amasi Martirosyan. Adapted from Hovhannes Tumanyan's famous story of the same name, it follows the sorrowful fate of Gikor, the young son of a poor peasant family, who is sent to the city to work in a merchant's household. Hıraçya Nersesyan appears in the cast of this Armenfilm production. Like Tumanyan's classic, the film is a wrenching portrait of what poverty and indifference inflict on a child.
