Grand Cinema

Grand Cinema is a 1989 Iranian historical comedy film directed and written by Hassan Hedayat. Shot in Persian and running about 93 minutes, it stands as one of the period's examples of Iranian comedic filmmaking.

The picture brings together a cast of familiar names from Iranian cinema. Ezzatolah Entezami, Akbar Abdi and Morteza Ahmadi appear in the leading roles, supported by performers such as Manouchehr Hamedi, Akbar Dudkar, Nasser Laghaei, Hossein Amirfazli and Ebrahim Abadi.

The film also found an audience abroad, being selected for the 16th Moscow International Film Festival. That screening placed it among the Iranian productions of its era to represent the country's cinema on an international stage.
