Gənc Qadının Kişisi

Directed by Cahangir Mehdiyev, Gənc Qadının Kişisi was completed in 1988 at the Azerbaijanfilm studio as a late-Soviet-era comedy. Its screenplay draws on "The Rhino's Horns," a short story written by Azerbaijani author Maksud Ibrahimbeyov. Shot in the Azerbaijani language and running roughly 72 minutes, the picture counts among the humorous features that came out of Azerbaijan just before the Soviet Union's collapse. Hasanağa Turabov and Melik Dadashev share the leading roles, joined by Leyla Badirbeyli, Cahangir Aslanoğlu, Məmməd Əlil, Laləzar Mustafayeva and Ajdar Hamidov in supporting parts. The picture is generally recalled as a film version that transplants Ibrahimbeyov's wry, ironic tone onto ordinary Soviet Azerbaijani life.
