Heil

Heil is a 2015 German comedy film written and directed by Dietrich Brüggemann. Taking a satirical approach, the film skewers the worldview, prejudices and methods of right-wing extremists and neo-Nazis, while at the same time sharply parodying the attitudes and tactics of their opponents, including left-wing counter-demonstrators, police officers, journalists, the domestic intelligence service and middle-class onlookers. Through dark humour, Brüggemann turns a critical eye on the reality of the far right in Germany and on the contradictions found on every side of the conflict. The cast includes Benno Fürmann, Liv Lisa Fries and Jacob Matschenz.
