L'ange noir
L'ange noir (The Black Angel) is a 1994 French drama written, co-produced and directed by Jean-Claude Brisseau. Running about 95 minutes, the film is notable for giving popular singer Sylvie Vartan the most substantial acting role of her cinema career. The ensemble also features Michel Piccoli, Tchéky Karyo, Alexandra Winisky, Bernard Verley and Claude Winter. The work is seen as shaped by the influence of classic cinema, a sensibility typical of Brisseau's filmmaking, and stands as a characteristic example of his dramatic work from the 1990s.
