Like Rabid Dogs

Like Rabid Dogs (Italian: Come cani arrabbiati) is a 1976 Italian crime thriller written and directed by Mario Imperoli. The film draws loose inspiration from the notorious Circeo massacre of September 1975, in which three young men kidnapped two young women and subjected them to rape and torture over the course of two days.

Made in the poliziottesco tradition, the picture also took cues from Mario Bava's 1973 film Cani arrabbiati, which had not yet been released at the time. Imperoli co-wrote the screenplay with Piero Regnoli. The cast features Paola Senatore and Paolo Carlini, with Gloria Piedimonte and Lina Franchi in supporting roles. Running roughly 95 minutes, the film deals with violence and criminality in the hard-edged style typical of Italian genre cinema of the 1970s.
