Loves of Three Queens

Loves of Three Queens (Italian: L'amante di Paride), also known as The Face That Launched a Thousand Ships, is a 1954 Italian anthology film directed by Marc Allégret and Edgar G. Ulmer. Using the frame story of a woman deciding which queen to portray at a costume party, the film brings episodes from the lives of Helen of Troy, Empress Joséphine, and Genevieve of Brabant to the screen.

The screenplay was written by Allégret together with Roger Vadim and Vittorio Nino Novarese, with music by Nino Rota. Hedy Lamarr plays multiple roles, while Guido Celano also appears in the cast. The project grew out of a planned television anthology developed by Lamarr and Victor Pahlen; when that series was shelved, three of its scripts were merged into a single feature shot in Italy.
