Sommerfest

Sommerfest is a 2017 German dramedy directed by Sönke Wortmann, adapted from Frank Goosen's novel of the same name. Stefan Zöllner, a stage actor, returns to his home town of Bochum for a weekend, intending to sell the house left by his late father and be back in Munich within three days at most. That proves easier said than done: old friends and acquaintances resurface, among them Charlie, his youthful love. Lucas Gregorowicz and Anna Bederke play the leads. Shot largely in Bochum as well as in Cologne, Mülheim and Hagen, the film also gives a small on-screen appearance to Görkem Sağlam, then a footballer with VfL Bochum. It opened in cinemas on 29 June 2017.
