The Lies of the Victors

The Lies of the Victors (German: Die Lügen der Sieger, released in France as Les Amitiés invisibles) is a 2014 German-French co-produced drama film directed by Christoph Hochhäusler. Written by Ulrich Peltzer and shot in German, the film runs 112 minutes.

It premiered in Essen on 8 June 2015 and opened in German cinemas on 18 June 2015. The title alludes to a verse by Lawrence Ferlinghetti stating that history is made from the lies of the victors. The cast features Özgür Karadeniz alongside performers such as Florian David Fitz and Lilith Stangenberg.
