The Silent Partner

The Silent Partner (Italian: Il socio invisibile) is an Italian drama film released in 1939. It was directed by Roberto Roberti and produced by the Rome-based company Scalera Film, with art direction by Gustav Abel and Alfredo Manzi.

The picture adapts a 1928 novel by the Chilean writer Jenaro Prieto. The same source material reached British screens that very year under the title The Mysterious Mr. Davis.

The leading roles are played by Carlo Romano, Clara Calamai and Evi Maltagliati, while the wider ensemble includes performers such as Sergio Tofano, Virgilio Riento, Mariella Lotti and Guido Celano. It stands as one of the drama productions made at the Scalera studios in the late 1930s.
