The Song of First Love

The Song of First Love ("İlk Aşkın Şarkısı" in Turkish) is a 1958 Soviet Armenian romantic musical film co-directed by Yuri Yerznkyan and Laert Vagharshyan, with a screenplay by Yakov Volchek and Zhirayr Hakobyan. It follows a talented singer who, spoiled by his success, very nearly loses the wife he loves.

Produced by Armenfilm, the film premiered in Yerevan on 4 April 1958 and in Moscow that August. It marked Khoren Abrahamyan's first significant screen role, and was the final film in which veteran actor Vagharsh Vagharshian appeared. Hıraçya Nersesyan is also in the cast, and the film remains one of the best-loved works of Armenian cinema from its era.
