Turkstar (Türkstar) (translated)

Türkstar was a Turkish singing competition broadcast on Kanal D in 2004. Adapted from the British Pop Idol format, it was created after Popstar Türkiye moved to Show TV following its first season, reuniting that season's judging panel of Armağan Çağlayan, Ercan Saatçi, Ahmet San and Zerrin Özer on Kanal D. Produced by Fremantle, the show suffered from extremely low ratings and ended after its first and only season.

The program was hosted by Haldun Dormen, Seray Sever and Gamze Özçelik. Türkstar holds a unique place among Idol franchises worldwide as the only one to feature a singing duo, Meltem Denizci and Emrah Gökelma, as contestants. Judge Armağan Çağlayan later continued his jury role in the subsequent Popstar and Popstar Alaturka competitions.
