Viva Riva!

Viva Riva! is a 2010 crime thriller co-produced by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, France, and Belgium, written and directed by Djo Tunda Wa Munga. Shot in French and Lingala and set in Kinshasa, it stands out as the first Congolese film produced in the DRC in more than twenty-eight years. The cast features Patsha Bay, Manie Malone, Fabrice Kwizera, and Hoji Fortuna as the Angolan gangster Cesar.

The film earned twelve nominations at the seventh Africa Movie Academy Awards and won six prizes, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, and Best Production Design, becoming the most awarded film in the history of the awards up to that point. It also received the Best African Movie prize at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards.
