You're the One (film, 2000)

You're the One is a 2000 Spanish drama directed by José Luis Garci and produced through Nickel Odéon Dos. Spain put the film forward as its official entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 73rd Academy Awards, though it did not make the final list of nominees. Despite that setback it found considerable international recognition, collecting more than a dozen honors including a Silver Bear for artistic contribution at the Berlin Film Festival. At home it also picked up several Goya Awards, among them prizes for supporting actress, cinematography, editing and production supervision. The cast is headed by Juan Diego and Ana Fernández, joined by performers such as Lydia Bosch, Julia Gutiérrez Caba and Jesús Puente.
