Tolgay Özbey — Biography
Tolgay Özbey (born 12 April 1986 in Sydney) is a former Australian professional footballer of Turkish descent who played as a striker. Widely known by the nickname "Tolly", he holds both Australian and Turkish citizenship.
His playing career ran roughly from 2003 to 2016. In Australia he appeared for Sydney United 58, Marconi Stallions, Sydney FC, Newcastle Jets and Blacktown City, and finished his career with Rockdale City Suns in the National Premier Leagues NSW. Abroad he played for Karacabey Belediyespor in Turkey and for the two great Kolkata clubs, East Bengal and Mohun Bagan, in India.
His move to Indian football in 2014 drew attention in the Turkish press, which noted that he was one of the very few Turkish players active in the country at the time.
