Tugay Kerimoğlu — Biography

Tugay Kerimoğlu (born 24 August 1970) is a retired Turkish international footballer who played as a midfielder and later worked as a coach. He spent the bulk of his playing career at Galatasaray, captaining the club as one of its youngest-ever captains in the 1992-93 season, before moving on to Rangers in Scotland and then Blackburn Rovers, where he had his longest spell abroad. He earned dozens of caps for the Turkish national team over nearly two decades.

After retiring, Tugay briefly worked under Mark Hughes at Manchester City before returning to Galatasaray as coordinator of the club’s youth academy, and later served as Roberto Mancini’s assistant coach at Galatasaray during the 2013-14 season. Since then he has remained a visible figure in Turkish football media, regularly offering commentary on transfers and match performances for outlets covering the Süper Lig.
