Tuğba Özerk — Biography

Tuğba Özerk was born on 4 June 1980 in İzmir. After attending Melih Özakat Primary School and Özel Çakabey Middle School, she completed secondary school at a conservatory, having begun musical training in the children's choirs of TRT and the İzmir State Conservatory at age seven. At twelve she sang backing vocals alongside Sezen Aksu on TRT in 1992, also performing a solo song in the same programme.

After finishing school she moved to Istanbul, where she provided backing vocals for artists including Ege and Deniz Seki. In December 2002 she released her debut solo album, Dün Gibi; its track "Aşk Yarası" spent a long stretch atop the radio charts, and another song from the album, "Kurnaz Tilki," was featured in the series Çiçek Taksi. Around this time she also spent about a year acting in the ATV series Böyle mi Olacaktı. Her second album, Lo Lo Lo, came out in July 2005, and its title track reached number one on the charts. In 2016 she released the album Aynı Semtin Çocukları with Kral FM, directed by Erkan Nas. She has kept releasing singles since, including "Sen Kalp Ben" in September 2025 and "Efe" in April 2026; in December 2025 she gave an awareness concert with special-needs students, and she performed across the Aegean region in the summer of 2026.
