Tuluhan Tekelioğlu — Biography

Tuluhan Tekelioğlu came into the world in Tours, France, on 5 March 1970, the daughter of Prof. Dr. Yavuz Tekelioğlu, and studied journalism at Ankara University's Faculty of Communication. She began her career at the Sipa Press agency in Paris, later worked as a reporter for Hürriyet back in Turkey, and volunteered with UNHCR at the Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya, turning what she witnessed there into a newspaper series for her readers.

From the early 2000s she moved into television, winning a best talk-show honor for Cine5's Başka Yerde Yok before going on to anchor news and chat programs on Habertürk, TGRT, Kanal D, Kanal 1 and TRT 2. Since 2007 she has written a Sabah newspaper interview column titled "Her Şeye Rağmen İkimiz," also the title of one of her books, alongside "50'sinde Erkek" and "40'ında 40 Kadın." Turning to documentary filmmaking, she directed Yeni Hayat, regarded as Turkey's first film on organ transplantation, along with Üvey Evlat and Persona Non Grata on press freedom, the women's-empowerment film Yapabilirsin (2018); more recently she completed Çocuklar Hep Doğru Söyler (2023).
